For many career women who have children, domestic workers come in handy to help them with house chores as well as watching after their babies.
Entrusting your child with a stranger is not an easy decision and the only thing all mothers pray for is to find their children healthy and safe at the end of the day.
However, according to a Facebook post by Sue Williams, that was not the case for her friend who came back home to a baby with a bleeding wound.
According to the post shared on Wednesday, March 13, the house help identified as Joyce Namuma Magoha hit the toddler with a glass plate on the forehead injuring him.
"Her name is Joyce Namuma Magoha, from Bungoma. She has been working for a friend of mine in Thika for two months. She hit the baby on the head using a plate made of glass," said Williams.
On realising the plate had cut the baby, she sprinkled salt on the wound in an effort to stop it from bleeding.
It, however, did not stop prompting the house help to flee leaving the injured child in the house alone while still bleeding.
The mother found him lying on the floor with blood oozing from the cut and immediately rushed him to the hospital where he was stitched.
The girl who is alleged to be from Bungoma county was later traced through the agent and arrested in Banana, Kiambu county and is now in police custody.
The house help claimed she took out her anger on the innocent baby out of "personal issues".
