Some workers of the Power Distribution Service (PDS) have been attacked at Kokrobite, a suburb of Accra.
The team was reportedly working on a high tension to restore power to the area after a dumsor had occurred only to be attacked.
However, the angry youth stormed the area and inflicted cutlass wounds on one of them as the rest run for their lives.
This is gathered in a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanaweb.
The wounded staff was reportedly taken to the hospital on Saturday for treatment.
The information was said to have been released a communications consultant at the Energy ministry noted on Facebook.
The consultant reported condemned the act and called on Ghanaians to be considerate in their actions.
“We plead with all Ghanaians and consumers of power to please be a bit more considerate in their actions.”
“Yesterday, as staff of PDS/ECG worked to restore power to residents around Krokrobite, they were attacked and beaten. One of the men working to restore power sustained a cutlass wound on his nose. This is very unfortunate,” the consultant decried.
"As various teams are out in the field working to restore power in the problematic areas, please let’s guarantee their safety, so they can deliver for us. It is essential for our own good,” he added
Meanwhile, the PDS has come under massive criticisms following the recent erratic power supply.
This is especially because they have been unable to explain the exact cause for dumsor in some parts of the country, and to a large extent, the whole of Ghana.
Some Ghanaians believe they are not being truthful with the cause of dumsor, a possible reason why the staff were attacked at Korkrobite.
