Ofosu Ampofo and two others may be jailed for 5- 10 years if found guilty - Maurice Ampaw

Controversial legal Practitioner, Maurice Ampaw, has revealed that National Democratic Congress (NDC) chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and two other executives of the party, would spend a lot of years in prison if found guilty.

He said Ofosu Ampofo together with Sammy Gyamfi and Kwaku Boahen would spend five to 10 years in prison if they are found guilty in court over the leaked audio purported to be their voices.

Lawyer Maurice Ampaw made the revelation while answering a question on Hot FM in line with the number of years Ofosu-Ampofo and his accomplices were likely to spend in prison if they are found guilty in court.

“They have been charged with conspiracy to commit a crime to wit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit a crime to wit threat of harm. Per these charges, if they’re found guilty they would spend nothing less than 5 to 10 years in prison,“ Maurice Ampaw said.

Maurice Ampaw, sounding extremely disdained, advised that anyone who would put his/her trust in a politician would die early.

"Politics is a game…No one should trust any politician. They are wicked, they can go into contract killing because of power.They can do anything for power. They are very very dangerous people,” he added.

Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, together with Sammy Gyamfi and Mr. Kwaku Boahen, have been charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit crime to wit kidnapping and conspiracy to commit crime to wit threat of harm by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.

The CID has said the docket on the case had been sent for allocation which will determine the type of court the case would be heard and the date for them to make an appearance in court.
