Potential Mahama running mate Zanetor Rawlings makes donation to the blind

Member of Parliament (MP) for Klottey Korle, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings, has donated a laptop to a young visually impaired young man residing in her constituency.

The man, Osman Alhassan, a resident of Tudu in Dr Rawlings' constituency, apparently made the request to the office of his MP. He is a student of the University of Ghana.

The donation took place on March 19, 2019 at the National Democratic Congress' (NDC) MP's office.

Dr Rawlings wrote on her Facebook post: "Yesterday, I was at Tudu to present a laptop computer to Osman Alhassan, a visually impaired student of the University of Ghana. This was after he had made an appeal to my office for the device to facilitate his studies.

I urged him to put the device to good use and make the best of the opportunities that come his way. On his part, Osman expressed his elation and gratitude, and promised to do his very best to become a role model for others in his community."

Osman is poised for success. He is a shining example to the world that, being visually impaired or having any form of physical impairment in no way means being intellectually handicapped.

It is our duty to support him to get as far as possible. I believe in Osman, and I look forward to him fulfilling his dream of becoming a broadcaster."

Meanwhile, eight names have popped up as leading candidates to be named as John Dramani Mahama’s running-mate for the 2020 elections.

Among these names is Dr Zanetor Rawlings whom many people feel is a good choice owing to the fact that she represents the NDC's Volta regional base and the bulk of the party's supporters who keep faith with her father, former president Jerry Rawlings.
