President Akufo-Addo has assured the Ghana Armed Forces that government is fully committed to their welfare and wellbeing.
The president was present at the end-of-year WASSA of the Ghana Armed Forces held at Burma Camp on Thursday, March 21, 2019.
He took the opportunity to thank the leadership of the army and its officers for continuously putting “their lives on the line to keep our nation safe.”
According to him, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government remains committed to the welfare of the Ghana Armed Forces.
“On Thursday, 21st March, 2019, I attended the 2018 end-of-year WASSA of the Ghana Armed Forces, at Burma Camp,” President Akufo-Addo posted on Facebook after his visit.
“I thanked the leadership, officers, men and women of the Armed Forces for being prepared to put their lives on the line to keep our nation safe, safeguard our sovereignty and protect our territorial integrity in the course of 2018.
“Government, I assured, is fully committed to the well-being and welfare of the men and women of the Ghana Armed Forces,” he added.
The government increased the United Nations Peacekeeping Troops contribution allowances from $30 to $35 per soldier per day.
