Rhoda Rodriuez, a 21-year-old university student has been diagnosed with a rare yet unbelievable disease that sometimes causes her to sleep for three weeks straight.
The lady who lives in Leicester, UK suffers from sleeping beauty syndrome better known as Kleine-Levin Syndrome which is a rare sleep disorder.
According to Daily Mail, in a day, Rhoda can stay in bed for 22 hours and wake from time while still in a haze to munch junk food and visit the toilet.
During her second year in university, Rhoda failed after she slept while sitting for her examinations.
According to the beauty, some people often confuse her condition for laziness, something that deeply hurts her.
“But I am determined to not let it have a big impact on my life. It is one part of me and not who I am. It is frustrating because I cannot help it,” she said.
According to Rhoda, she has no control whenever the episodes happen.
When she was a kid, the lady missed out on most of her childhood because she could not hangout with her fellow children as much as she would want to.
“I feel a huge setback when it does happen. I miss out on so much. That is the hardest part of it. It is hard to explain to people where I have been. Because it is so rare a lot of people struggle to understand,” she explained.
However, doctors could not pinpoint what was causing her sleeping episodes till she was a grown woman.
