Heavy rains have destroyed over 100 homes as well as other properties at Twifo Hemang in the Central region, YEN.com.gh can report.
Per a report by Adomonline.com, trees, electricity poles and billboards were destroyed on Sunday, March 24, 2019.
The rains, which were accompanied by strong winds, brought down trees, electricity poles, billboards and flooded major areas.
A resident in the area, K.O. Acquah, who narrowly escaped death, said many have been rendered homeless.
Acquah said the displaced residents were left with no option than to spend the night with friends and relatives after the devastation.
Though no casualties were recorded, he bemoaned how the situation had been a drawback for them, as the water level in some homes rose to neck level.
He therefore appealed to the government for support, as the situation had also disrupted electricity supply to the area.
