Police clamp down on armed robbers at Kpone

The Kpone Police have arrested a worker of His Majesty Company and his accomplices at Kpone over a robbery which took place at the company.

According to the police, a group of people, numbering about 10, invaded the premises of the company with machetes and other weapons.

The men were believed to have scaled the walls of the company and upon entry, locked up the security man and two drivers’ mates in one of the company’s offices.

They proceeded to force open one of the four-footer containers, the contents of which they loaded into a vehicle they brought to the yard.

They made away with quantities of air conditioners, television sets and other electronic gadgets.

One of the workers at the charge office spotted a worker driving away a car and became suspicious of him, whereupon he alerted the police who arrested him for questioning.

The District Commander and Crime Officer led a team to an uncompleted building at Kpone-Kokomple where 61 air conditioners and television sets were found.

A search in the suspect’s car revealed a telltale item similar to one discovered at the scene of the crime.

The suspect led the police to arrest a certain Stephen Mensah, aka America, Emmanuel Mensah, Clement Gyasi, Abdulah Mohammed, Andrews Koffie, Joe Amoah and Kwame Danso, all suspects in the crime.
