A South African pilot identified as Charl Viljoen, has died after allegedly purposely crashing an aircraft in an attempt to kill his wife. However, the pilot was the only one who died during the incident.
According to The Citizen, the angered man decided to crash the plane after he and his wife were involved in a nasty spat during an event.
The incident took place in Botswana after the chap stole the plane from an airstrip.
Charl, an employee of Botswana-based Kalahari Air Services, was allegedly drunk at the party and was asked to leave. He then decided to crash the plane into a building where the wife was attending a baby shower.
It was gathered that the crash caused significant damage to the airstrip, control tower and parked vehicles.
Police in Botswana said investigations into the matter have been launched. Charl and his wife worked and lived in Botswana for 10 years before he met his death.
