Information available to YEN.com.gh shows that kidnappers have released a nine-year-old boy after his family paid GHC3000 as ransom.
Per a report from Citinewsroom.com, unknown people at Agona Swedru in the Central Region kidnapped Maxwell Buabeng a week ago.
The kidnappers first informed the family of their intention to harm him if a ransom of GHC5000 is not paid.
It was later reduced to GHC3000, and Maxwell was released in a nearby village, where two women discovered him.
A relative of the nine-year-old, Maxwell Buabeng Hazel recounted the family’s ordeal, stating that the incident occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2019.
A relative sent the boy to buy kenkey that evening but after waiting for two hours, there was no sign of the boy.
That same day, the boy’s mother received a call with the ransom demand, after which the family made a report to the police.
