An energy expert, Kojo Poku, has announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of those behind the hacking of a transmission tower at Tema in the Greater Accra region.
Myjoyonline reports that that Poku is ready to give $1000 to ensure that the perpetrators behind the act are brought to justice.
One of the pylons near the head office of Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) that transmits power from Karpower and AKSA to the national grid was hacked on Monday, March 25, 2019.

According to Poku, the act is akin to terrorism, as the pylons are the backbone of electricity in Ghana.
The energy minister, Peter Amewu, has meanwhile said the act is a clear attempt to sabotage the Nana Akufo-Addo administration.
Amewu revealed that his outfit has picked up intelligence pointing to “complete sabotage,” adding “I will not rule out a political motive for the sabotage.”
