Okyeame Kwame claims Asanteman gave the British a fake golden stool

Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has claimed that the Asante state gave the British a fake golden stool.

Okyeame Kwame was of the view that the Asanteman at the time they fought with the British gave them an imitated golden stool.

According to the 'Woso' hitmaker, the Asantehene at the time was smart enough to hand over a fake golden stool to the British.

In an Instagram post, Okyeame Kwame posted a photo of the current Asantehene, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II and the golden stool.

In captioning the photo, he wrote "The British brought guns and canons to demand for the golden stool and Nananom gave them a fake one."

"This should be the Africans state of Mind. Enjoy today . Nana wo nkwa so...Piaaaaaaawww," he added.

Okyeame Kwame's post has generated a lot of argument on his Instagram page with some supporting his revelation while others disputed it.

It seems this is one of the few times that someone has come out to tell the history in a manner that Okyeame Kwame told it.

To some, the golden stool which was conjured by Okomfo Anokye was taken away by the British after they defeated the Asantes in a war.

But it seems the widely-known history is not true as Okyeame Kwame revealed that the golden stool is still here in Ghana.

Okyeame Kwame's comment could be because in the photo that he posted, the golden stool was lying beside Otumfuor Osei Tutu.

Recently, YEN.com.gh published a story after Okyeame Kwame slammed President Akufo-Addo for announcing that French will be introduced as a second language.

In a tweet, Okyeame Kwame claimed that introducing French is disrespectful to our pride and culture.
