Former Black Stars defender, John Paintsil, has renamed Wa All Stars as Stallion FC.
Retired Ghanaian international defender, John Paintsil, has revealed a new name for Wa All Stars.
The name, according to a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Ghanaweb.com is Stallion FC.
Paintsil officially bought Wa All Stars from banned former GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi and has thus decided to re-brand the team.
He disclosed that all the necessary procedures have been done in relations to the change of name.
“The name of the club has been changed to Stallions FC. This name was changed by special resolution… with the approval of the registry of companies on 28th February, 2019. It was incorporated… as a company limited by guarantee…” Paintsil revealed in his tweet.
YEN.com.gh, however, cannot say if the team will still be based in Wa or will be moved to a different location, precisely Accra, where Paintsil lives.
Meanwhile, the sale of Wa All Stars became necessary after FIFA banned Nyantakyi following an investigative piece by Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
In that video, the former GFA president was caught allegedly dealing in bribery and corrupt deals.
He was thus banned for life by the world football body at both the international and local stages.
Nyantakyi is not required to have any private or national dealing in all football-related activities.
