Meet 16-year-old David who can't get into university even though he scored all As

A young Nigerian teenager is reportedly being denied entry into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) because although the boy has stellar results, he does not meet the university's age requirements.

Okorogheye Orisheneye David, a 16-year-old boy is being denied admission into the University of Lagos (UNILAG) because, as YEN.com.gh learnt, David is not old enough to be in the university by the requirements of UNILAG.

According to the report in a Facebook post coming from Proudly African News, David may never attend the university of his choice even though by the measure of public exams, he is more than qualified.

In the West African Examination Council examinations taken by David, he scored an A in each and everyone of the following: Civic Education, English Language, Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Studies and Catering Craft Practice.

The young man's case is apparently being made by one Ambassador, Adjarho David Obaro.

Obviously, this sparked some strong opinions from respondents on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the departments of Mechanical Engineering and Physics at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have built a solar-powered 4x4 vehicle.

The KNUST constructed the first solar-powered 4×4 vehicle to be manufactured in Africa in partnership with the Technical University of Munich.

The environmentally-friendly vehicle, meant to carry passengers and goods, was inaugurated by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the 51st congregation of the KNUST.
