In a rather curious instance, singer Deborah Vanessa has hailed ex-boyfriend, rapper Medikal as the best rapper currently making music in Ghana.
In a tweet on March 30, 2019, singer and model, Deborah Vanessa says it is her her ex-boyfriend, Medikal, that Ghanaians should acknowledge as the best rapper in Ghana at the moment.
Deborah Vanessa, also known as Sister Derby, quote-tweeted a question from entertainment news platform Muse Africa when the portal asked who Ghanaians thought was the best rapper in the country.
Sister Derby, being a musician herself and having collaborated with her ex-boyfriend, would be in the right place to judge a good rapper. That is if we can say she spoke purely out of appreciation for music.
Medikal and Sister Derby had a whirlwind romance that turned a lot of heads for entertainment observers. Most notable of the gossip was the topic of age, as Derby is over 5 years older than Medikal.
The pair broke up, with either musician putting out a song explaining their side of the love-turned-sour.
It was however Sister Derby's "Kakalika Love" which turned out to be the hit of the "break up explanatory songs".
In the song, Derby accused Medikal of cheating with Fella Makafui while she (Derby) was with him. Incidentally, Makafui is now the girlfriend of Medikal.
With the very public vote of praise from Sister Derby, it would seem that it is not all war between the ex-lovers.
Indeed, Sister Derby's borther, musician Wanlov has also been known to still continue his friendship with Medikal even after his sister broke up with the rapper.
