A Facebook user has shared the story of a hit-and-run incident she witnessed in Kumasi
A driver who was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Kumasi has bolted after being caught on camera by another road user.
According to the road user, Vera Ewura Obeng who shared the story on Facebook, the driver hit somebody at the Atinga Junction near Ahodwo. But instead of helping of getting down to help the accident victim, the driver stopped for a few seconds and sped off.
Vera who was right behind the the Nissan Rogue 4X4 car pursued the driver to a pub where he was delivering some items. She warned him to do the right thing or have her report him to the police.
According to her, he followed the vehicle until the owner got to his destination and asked that he goes back to attend to victim. The driver bolted again.
The guy apologised and agreed to go back and take care of his victim so Vera followed him back to the scene of the accident but upon reaching there, he sped off again.
Angered by the driver's behaviour, Vera who had taken a photo of the hit-and-run vehicle decided to put it on social media and get the guy arrested.
“To the owner of this car , this car was just used in a #hitandrun I was right behind him so I saw it all. He was speeding and hit a mate. He stood there for some few seconds and just sped off. This happened at Atinga Junction , Ahodwo Kumasi
'I chased him into a pub...looks like he was dropping some items for decoration…I told him I was going to report him to the police if he does not go back to attend to the person he had hit .He apologised and said he was going back.
There was a lady and another man in the car. They just told there whispering..
'I decided to follow him back to the place to make sure he had done the right thing only for him to speed off again. The guy has been taken to the hospital. I am so mad this morning ..how can some people be so," she wrote.
