A brother of a London-based Ghanaian man who assaulted his wife has revealed rather interesting things about his brothers’ marriage to the assaulted woman.
Reports picked up by YEN.com.gh have it that a Ghanaian man based in the UK poured hot water on his wife's face but a brother of the man believes the husband is now being misrepresented in the Ghanaian media.
According to the brother of the accused husband Alex, the assaulted wife, Bernice, deceived Alex into going to the registry in Accra to sign their marriage certificate. How this happened, it is unknown.
However, Alex did not perform the customary traditional marriage rites for Ghanaians, which for his brother means the marriage is not built on solid grounds.
Alex's brother said: “Alex is not a bad guy as people think. He didn’t perform the traditional marriage rites, it was Bernice who deceived him to go to the registry in Accra to sign."
Everything Bernice said is a lie, she is not known to any family member. She is a liar and he has a reason and aims for circulating such lies."
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Alex's brother is heard narrating the defence of his brother to another on camera.
Alex's brother said that the marriage between Alex and Bernice is over and currently, the marriage is being annulled in court.
Earlier, we reported that Alex had beaten and poured hot water on his wife in London after she dumped him for marrying a second wife.
According to photos and audio that circulated on social media, Alex reportedly married another woman in Ghana two years after marrying his first wife.
Reports further revealed that the first wife in London begun to suspect her husband's affairs after he had a conversation with someone on the phone and tried to hide it from her.
In order to ascertain the truth, after Alex stepped out, she took his phone and picked the number.
She later contacted the user of the said number and found that it was her husband's other wife. Her confrontation of Alex led to her unfortunate hospitalisation.
