Photo of a female mason goes viral sparking both controversy and support

A photo and a commitment on Facebook from a woman who is a mason is enjoying wild and viral appreciation partly because she is working in a field particularly dominated by men. has sighted on Facebook, the viral post of a female mason whose sworn commitment to her job and morality has made her an instant hit on the social media network.

The post was made by New Africa but the name of the woman is unknown to us. That is not stopping the thousands of respondents referring to her as the one other women should emulate.

The Facebook post read: "I rather be doing this than following men up and down, men that will destroy my future.

I know that you will not share because I'm not a slay queen."

Some of the responses were very supportive of the mason.

Yet, there were a few who were not quite enthusiastic about how the mason's post was charaterised.

Indeed, the practice of some women juxtaposing their profession or achievement to "slay queens" is something that is done almost everyday in social media culture.

As much as social media has raised a generation of women who are making ends meet from showcasing their beauty on social media, it is also inspiring other well-mannered women advertise their worth to the world.
