Agona Nkwanta man grabbed by police after trying to put "juju" in wife's pants

A man in Agona Nkwanta in the Central region of Ghana has been nabbed by the police after he attempted to harm his wife using spiritual charms.

A 36-year-old unemployed man who apparently got tired of having to wash his wife's undergarments was arrested on Sunday, March 31, 2019, because he tried to put spiritual charms in his wife's pants.

The incident happened at Agona Nkwanta in the Central region and reports available to YEN.com.gh has it that the accused, Emmanuel Obeng, felt his wife was physically and emotionally neglecting him.

3news.com reports that Obeng married his wife, a successful businesswoman, in December of 2018.

But since the marriage began, Obeng lost his job and found that his wife was cheating on him. He added that she also failed to support him financially.

Obeng therefore approached a spiritualist to cause, through spiritual means, damage to his wife’s private parts and also reverse his wife's fortunes to him.

It was at this point that he was instructed to take certain actions regarding the personal undergarments worn by his wife. Obeng took to the spiritualist, six pants belonging to his wife, as well as her photo and an amount of GHC 1,600.

But the spiritualist, apparently uninterested in the hatchet job he had been commissioned to do, gave the money and other articles Obeng had given to him to the police.

Obeng was then arrested, and according to a source, it was to put fear into him.

Ordinarily, the police, like any instrument of state, is expected to transact in scientific evidence. As such, no case can be brought against Obeng in a court of law.

There is however no detail as to how Obeng and his wife are resolving the matter internally.
