Akufo-Addo government destroying Ghana - Lecturer

- The lecturer who is an NDC sympathiser says the Akufo-Addo-led administration is in no way developing the country

- He expressed worry about under development in the across the country, especially in the Wa East district

A respected lecturer the University for Development Studies (UDS), Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw has expressed regret over the spate of development in Ghana in the last two years.

According to the senior lecturer, Ghana has seen total under development since Akufo-Addo took over the reigns of government.

He bemoaned the massive under-development in the Wa East District of the Upper West Region, especially.

Dr. Jasaw made this known while donating some computers to schools in the Wa East District.

He noted, his trips round the country show a slow pace of development, especially in the past two years.

He expressed  his willingness to continuously support the constituents by liaising with cooperate bodies and other agencies to provide some of the basic amenities needed to ameliorate the living conditions of the people in the district.

He donated the computers to Funsi Roman Catholic Basic School and Kundugu Basic School.

Meanwhile, the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has joined mounting resistance to a draft Public Universities Bill, described as an attack on academic freedom.

The government has cited archaic laws at some universities as justification for proposing the Public Universities Bill.

The proposed law, being sponsored by the Ministry of Education, spells out the procedure for the establishment of Public Universities, the principles of management of public universities and the legal status of public universities.
