The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah has mocked the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for demanding the publication of the report by the Emile Short Commission which was set to investigate the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election violence in January 2019.
According to him, the party had no justification whatsoever to demand the report because it boycotted it from the onset and barred its members from appearing before the commission.
Speaking on Angel FM, Buabeng Asamoah said the NDC was only bringing this up to find an excuse not to co-operate with the meeting with the Peace Council to set the ground rules for the disbandment of vigilante groups.

He described the demand by the NDC as shameful and disrespectful to the people of Ghana and asked them to channel their energies into national issues.
However, the spokesperson for the NDC legal team, Lawyer Abraham Amaliba said the NDC had every right to demand the report because the Short Commission was sponsored with tax payer’s money.
