The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ningo Prampram, Sam Dzata George, has called for sanctions against President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the president lied to Ghanaians when he presented a State of the Nations Address (SoNA) on February 8, 2019.
George argued that the president assured Ghanaians that an amount of GHC200 million would be spent on efforts to deal with sanitation in Ghana.
Per a report by 3news.com, the MP disclosed that the assurance is yet to be translated into reality, as people lose their lives each time it rains.
To George, the president has been exposed by the latest rains, which resulted in the loss of lives.
“We have not entered the rainy season but what happened on Sunday is a clear example that the president misled Parliament,” he said.
The NDC legislator claimed the president had said there was a significant improvement in sanitation, with the increase of solid waste management from 16% to 53%, something he said is not true.
