Meet Prince Larbie, the 6-year-old boxer who is the hottest boxer in Ghana

Boxing is one of the biggest sports in the world currently due to the kind of investment that goes into it.

At first, not every parent would have loved to see his son become a boxer looking at the risks involved.

Now, boxing is seen as a source of income as many have become rich through the rough sport.

But to become a boxer, one must have the passion for it and that is the story of Prince Larbie, a 6-year-old pupil who is in kindergarten.

Prince, nicknamed “The Buzz” is regarded as the hottest prodigy in Ghana due to his boxing skills.

The young boy started boxing in 2018 and he is trained by his father Nii Larbie.

Prince [Larbie] started boxing a year ago,” Nii Larbie told in an exclusive interview.

With regard to Prince’s interest in boxing, Nii Larbie revealed that: “I didn’t forced him into boxing, I am a trainer and I have been taking him to the gym and that is where he fell in love with the sport.”

Looking at his age, Prince’s skills, especially his mitt works with his father has wowed many important names in boxing including Azumah Nelson and Colombian ambassador, Claudia Turbay Quintero.

Prince is an intelligent person. Sometimes I’m baffled with his skills. Even the likes of Azumah Nelson and Columbian ambassador have fallen in love with him.”

Talking about combining education and boxing, Prince’s father said he doesn’t have any problem with it because he has outlined a training programme for his son which will not affect his studies.

Prince is just 6-years-old but his father wants him to emulate Azumah Nelson.

He said, Azumah Nelson proved to the world that he is a good fighter which helped him to defend his WBC featherweight belt for 10 years.

Nii Larbie added that, he wants his son to combine Azumah Nelson’s skills with his own.

Prince’s father predicted that his son will gatecrash Ghana’s amateur boxing at age 13 and called on Ghanaians to watch out.
