Video of woman crying over locked GHC 15k at GN Bank moves people to tears

A video of a customer whose cash has been locked up at the embattled GN Savings and Loans has gone viral thanks to social media but chiefly because her cries and story are so touching.

The now-downgraded GN Bank (savings and loans) was the scene of crying and wailing when an aggrieved customer confronted a branch of the financial institution asking to be paid her GHC 15,000.

A video sighted on the Facebook page of, showed the woman weeping bitterly amidst her complaints of how GN had kept stalling on paying her money.

According to the young who claimed to be a nurse, work in Jordan allowed her to save as much as GH 15,604 at the institution. She planned on coming to Ghana to do some trading with that money.

But GN have had nothing but stories for her.

In order to assure the recorder of the video that she was who she said she was, the aggrieved customer showed what seemed like her passport and another envelope she claimed contained her nursing certificate.

She has been to the GN headquarters several times and in all of it, she was directed to go to the branch where she saved her money.

However, when she went to her branch, the manager also told her to go to back to the headquarters all the times she has been there.

GN Savings and Loans is one of the companies owned by business mogul and politician, Papa Kwesi Nduom. The company has been hit, just like many other financial institutions, by the crisis of Ghana's financial sector of the last two years.

A sister company of GN, Gold Coast Securities, is also facing problems of liquidity.
