- Ghana has not been seeded ahead of Friday’s draw for the AFCON 2019

Ghana Black Stars have failed to be seeded in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament which will take place Egypt in June 2019.
The Confederation African Football(Caf) confirmed on Thursday, April 11 the procedure on how the 2019 edition of the AFCON will be like.
And Ghana was not part of the seeded teams. The six seeded countries are hosts Egypt, holders Cameroon, Nigeria, Tunisia, Senegal and Morocco.
According to the communique released by CAF, the draw procedure was approved at the CAF Executive Committee Meeting. It also stated that the teams seeded was based on the latest FIFA ranking.
Ghana will be in Pot Two, meaning it would face a tough group after the draw in Cairo on Friday, April 12, 2019.
Ghana is in Pot Two with DR Congo, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea and Algeria.
In all 24 countries qualified for the AFCON finals in Egypt. They will be grouped into four pots‚ each containing six teams‚ which will be drawn into the six first-round groups.

Pot 1: Egypt, Cameroon, Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Morocco
Pot 2: DR Congo, Ghana, Mali, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea, Algeria
Pot 3: South Africa, Uganda, Benin, Mauritania, Madagascar, Kenya
Pot 4: Zimbabwe, Namibia, Guinea Bissau, Angola, Tanzania, Burundi
The 2019 Africa Cup of Nations will start from June 21 to July 19, 2019.
