4 unique facts about the 2019 WASSCE
Final year students of Senior High Schools (SHSs) are expected to sit for the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) fin April 2019.
The exam, which began on Monday, April 8, 2019 with Basketry 3 project work, will end on June 7, 2019, with Elective Information and Communication Technology.
As the exam progresses, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has introduced key security features, with the hope of eliminating cheating:

1. Capture the fingerprints of candidates:
This would help curb impersonation, i.e. people writing exams on behalf of others.
2. It would also introduce CCTV cameras:
The CCTV cameras would also help with capturing all that goes on in an examination room, which may be on the blindside of invigilators.
3. E-marking software:
An electronic means of marking scripts have also been introduced to aid in the assessment of students, in a bid to eliminate human errors.
4. Computer-based testing to curb exam malpractice:
Exam malpractice may also be a thing of the past, as a computer-based testing technique has also been adopted in the year 2019.
