The famous Notre-Dame Cathedral, regarded as the centre of Paris, was on Monday, April 15, taken over by flames.

Reuters reports that the flames made their way from the roof of the edifice and engulfed its top, with firefighters doing their utmost to contain the situation.
Due to the tragedy, President Emmanuel Macron postponed his address to the nation scheduled for Monday, April 15. A presidential official said Macron was to go to the scene of the blaze.
Concerning the incident, Mayor Anne Hidalgo said: “A terrible fire is under way at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris.” Newsmen reveal that the development is treated by the police as an accident.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported that the Kano state fire service had said that 35 temporary shops have been razed by fire at Kurmin Yan-nama Marketin the state.
The spokesman of the service, Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, confirmed the incident as he spoke with newsmen in Kano on Sunday, April 14.
