Brilliant Ghanaian student makes history; graduates with 5.0 GPA at Russian University

Exceptionally brilliant Ghanaian, Abdul-Kadir Ameyaw, has graduated top of his class with a 5.00/5.00 GPA at a Russian university.

Brilliant Ghanaian student, Abdul-Kadir Ameyaw, has challenged stereotypes by proving that Africa is one of the world's continents with the most intelligent people.

He added to his achievements by graduating top of his class to affirm this account.

The young Ghanaian was admitted as an international student at the Russian State Hydrometeorological University with no knowledge of the native language.

His determination to surmount this barrier earned him accolades after graduating as the overall best student with a 5.00/5.00 GPA.

Of over 800 students who graduated, Abdul-Kadir made history as the only student of his faculty to earn a perfect score with an A (GPA) in every subject over the four year period.

He also cemented this feat with a 5.00 GPA score, the first time in four years at the university, 3news.com reported.

Abdul-Kadir is a native of Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo region. He had his basic education at St. John’s International School.

While at Dormaa SHS senior school, he won a full scholarship to study in the United States as part of the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study Program.

He gained admission at the University of Ghana, Legon, after a laudable performance for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

He later left after three semesters to pursue a degree in Economics in Russia owing to the Ghana-Russia Bilateral Scholarship.

The young Ghanaian acknowledged the difficulty of studying in a new language. This burden was lessened with a ten-month language preparatory course prior to studies, he stated in an interview.

The first year was the toughest because we were put in the same group with Russians and the lecturers never slowed down. I barely understood what was taught at lectures.”

Abdul-Kadir also added to his gains two scholarships for his Master’s degree. He was first awarded the Economic Olympics of The Open Doors Russian Scholarship Project from the ministry of education for winning the Olympics.

This granted him full scholarship to pursue his master’s degree in any Russian university of his choice.

He will be pursuing his Masters in Management at a renowned school of management, St. Petersburg State University, Eastern Europe.
