Ghanaian with fake documents arrested en route to Canada

- A judge in Canada has sentenced a Ghanaian for carrying fake travel documents

- Seth Asare was arrested in Jamaica trying to board a flight to Toronto, Canada

A Ghanaian by name Seth Asare has been arrested in Jamaica attempting to board a flight to Canada with fake documents.

Seth was apprehended by Jamaican immigration officials at the Norman Manley International Airport.

He confessed carrying fake papers in the quest to realise his dream of living in North America.

According to Daily Mail GH, he pleaded guilty to the charges of altering forged documents and forgery on Monday, April 15, 2019, at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.

Asare will face a jail term of up to one month if he fails to pay a fine of GHC4,000 (JMD100,000).

The judge, Vaughn Smith, also ruled that, the Ghanaian be deported after he settles his fine or serve the one month jail term.
