Fire destroys properties at Kumasi central market (Photos, Video)
Information available to YEN.com.gh shows that fire has destroyed properties at the Kumasi central market on Good Friday, April 19, 2019.
A secondhand clothing section of the market, in the Dr. Mensah area, has been razed down by fire, which destroyed almost everything.
The fire started around 10pm and its cause is yet to be established; however, an eye witness disclosed that a security man on duty underrated the fire which started very small as he attempted to put it out himself.

Per a report by Graphic.com.gh, he only resorted to the help of fire service personnel after it has escalated as passersby stood in awe.
The Ashanti regional Fire Service Commander, ACFO Joshua Nguah, advised people to learn to report fire cases early and stop underrating fires.
