Manchester United were on Sunday, April 21, handed a 4-0 demolition by Everton at Goodinson Park to have their hopes of a top four finish at the end of the season dented.

Upon the resumption of the second half, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer introduced Ashley Young and Scott McTominay for Fred and Phil Jones but the tactical decision did not pay off as Lucas Digne went on to extend Everton's lead to three goals.

Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott scored the Toffees' fourth in the 64th minute to put the game beyond United.

The routing saw fans take to social media to reflect on the Red Devils' lackluster performance, with many appearing to agree with Jose Mourinho's assertions on the current squad when he was United manager.

The Portuguese tactician was quoted admitting he was lucky to finish second in the Premier League last season with the squad members he had.

However, others took time to delve into the now imploding crisis at Man United, arguing the problem could be deeper than change of managers at the club.

Meanwhile, the embarrassing defeat against Marco Silva's men left United lying sixth on the Premier League standings with 64 points with just four matches to end the season.
