Stonebwoy jabs NPP over 2016 campaign promises

Stonebwoy has taken a swipe at the ruling government over their inability to fulfil their promises to the Ghanaian people.

Multiple award winning dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy, has expressed his disappointment at the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to a report sighted by on, the'Top Skanka' hitmaker stressed that Akufo-Addo's government's inability to fulfill its massive promise in the run up to the 2016 general elections.

Stonebwoy added that the socioeconomic instability including the rise in the Dollar against the Cedi Rate, the Menzgold Saga, banks being shut down and some consolidated are definitely not a reflection of what the current government promised Ghanaians.

Speaking on GhOne TV, the BET award winner said: “I’m not trying to be political right now. I’m just trying to be a patriotic citizen. I’m a citizen of Ghana and a proud one of course. The word out there o, is not too … If I can say, this regime, we have seen banks closed like never before, we have seen the Menzgold, like a thing of such a situation had happened a long time ago when we all heard Pyram and DKM and all and this time also, there are so many things happening that people actually and so many promises that the government present actually made that people haven’t seen yet.”

He further explained that the economic challenges compared to the promises made is giving credence to the government’s failure in the area of delivering on their promises.

Stonebwoy was in the news recently following the naming of his second child and first son.

The Bhim Nation president named his son Jenam which literally means ‘Reign.’

According to the Top Skanka hitmaker, his son has come to reign hence the decision to give him that name.

However, many people have wondered why Stonebwoy named his son Jenam (meaning reign) because his rival Shatta Wale's last album which he launched in October 2018 came with the title ‘Reign.’
