Ghanaian student making laudable strides at Chinese vocational school
With much determination and a pleasant attitude, a talented Ghanaian student in China, Sergio Thompson, is making strides worthy of praise.
A super-talent Ghanaian, Sergio Thompson, has acquired rare automobile dissembling and assembling skills in China and plans to return home to start a technical training school to transfer the knowledge acquired to Ghanaians.
Sergio Thompson, 19, was sent to China by his father to learn automobile repairs four years ago.
He is the first Ghanaian foreign student at the Lanxiang vocational school. He named himself Liu Yang in Chinese language while affirming that learning in a foreign language was a tussle for him.

The young Ghanaian had to place Chinese pinyin cards everywhere in his room to enable him keep practicing spelling.
With no knowledge of the native language, he took opportunities to practice oral communication and a year later begun communicating fluently with others in Chinese.
Another challenge he surmounted was the task of having to equip himself with Technical skills to become the best at what he does.
Thompson majored in automobile repair at Shandong Lanxiang Technician College. And can now disassemble and assemble automotive engines blindfolded in the shortest time possible.

His resolve to surmount difficult challenges has earned him recognition around the world.
He will soon graduate from college and return with the skills he acquired from China to Ghana this summer.
To add to this achievement mainly intended to impact society, Thompson and his father plan to open a technical school in Ghana and invite Chinese teachers to transfer automotive repair knowledge and skills to Ghanaians.
