A level 400 student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) is in the grip of the police after he attempted to stuff a ballot box during the SRC elections.
Thousands of GIJ students reported to campus on Friday, April 19, 2019 to elect new Executives of the Students Representative Council (SRC).
The polls were, however, nearly marred when one of the students was caught engaging in a malpractice.
According to an eyewitness, a final-year student was busted removing already thumb printed ballot papers from a secret compartment in his belt.
A total of 19 thumb printed ballot papers in favour of one of the candidates was found on him.
Reports suggest he was caught while trying to sneak the thumb printed ballot papers into a ballot box.
He was, however, arrested and driven straight to the police station.
