In the said photo, then 12-year-old Kofi and his grandmother posed beautifully for the camera.

It appears that, the photo was taken in 1993 and it was the same year he left Ghana for US.

However, since leaving the country 25 years ago, the newly-crowned WWE champion has never returned.

After achieving that historic feat at WWE, Kofi has confirmed that he will be making a return to Ghana soon.

Kofi was born in Kumasi but moved to the United States of America (USA) at a very tender age, where he started his wrestling career.

Kingston is thus the second African American – following Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson – to win the WWE Championship.

He is currently a member of tag-team group The New Day and also a four-time Intercontinental Champion, a three-time United States Champion and an eight-time world tag team champion.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported a story of WWE storming Ghana to shoot a documentary on Kofi’s historic homecoming.

The documentary has already started at his home in Texas and WWE producers are expected to join him to Ghana to capture his historic homecoming.
