Akufo-Addo is sleeping on the job - Ayariga

- Hassan Ayariga has said President Akufo-Addo is not in charge of the country as president

- Ayariga suspects some other persons are running the country on behalf of the president

The founder and former flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC) Hassan Ayariga has said President Akufo-Addo is not in charge of the country as president, stating that the president is oblivious of things happening in the country.

Ayariga suspects some other persons are running the country on behalf of the president.

He made this observation on TV3's New Day on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, where he accused the president of reneging on his promises.

Ayariga further said the NPP has failed to fulfill promises made to Ghanaians, and that Ghana is not making any progress under the NPP contrary to the buoyant economy they promised.

“We have taken Ghana for a ride…Ghana is retrogressing, I am not happy, I do not even sleep, because we have fine brains and good politicians but look at where we are,” Mr. Ayariga lamented.

“Nana Addo as a president does not even know what is happening in the country, because nothing is moving. The Nana Addo people thought is the man who was coming to salvage the country, is the man who is now sleeping .

According to Ayariga, Ghanaians had too much hope in the Akufo-Addo-led administration, but he had proven otherwise since he assumed office.

“Ghanaians believed in the integrity of Nana Addo. They looked at his quality, age, exposure, his level of experience and believed that this was a man that was coming to salvage Ghana,” he explained.
