Per a Pulse.com.gh report, it recommended various sanctions against some officials involved in the Awayaso by-election shooting incident.

Speaking about the leaks, the president stated the government would rather err on the side of caution rather than make any hasty decisions.

He explained that until the government is satisfied that the time is right, it would hold on to the report.

The Emile Short Commission Commission was established to investigate the cause of the violence that marred the by-election and make some recommendations.

The committee presented its report in March 2019 to president Akufo-Addo after interviewing several officials and witnesses concerning the shooting incident.
