Ghanaian student dies over Barcelona heavy loss at Liverpool

F.C Barcelona were stunned by English side Liverpool after the lost 4-0 in a UCL match on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.

A final year High school student has been confirmed dead after Liverpool thrashed Barcelona to reach the final of the 2018/19 Uefa Champions League.

In a report sighted by YEN.com.gh on Dailymailgh.com, Hebert Danso Atiko collapsed after the English side scored the fourth goal in a stunning comeback to eliminate the Spanish giants from the prestigious European tournament.

According to an eyewitnesses, other football watchers poured water on him, hoping to resuscitate him but he did not gain consciousness.

The final year Engineering student at the Akwatia Technical School was pronounced dead at the St. Dominic’s Hospital in Akwatia.

The Principal of Akwatia Technical School, Maxwel Owusu-Afriyie, said his parents have been informed about the development.

The police have commenced investigation into the case.

“We will get the details and see if there was something the student did that suggest that his behavior was in excess. On that we can really talk to the students. We have a system in place where we talk to the students and their behavior these days,” the headmaster said.

In the said game, Liverpool broke the deadlock in the 7th minute courtesy Divock Origi's strike.

From the break, Wijnaldum came from bench to score two quick goals before Origi scored the fourth goal to register his brace.
