- An NDC official, Abraham Amaliba, has argued that the NPP would engage in illegal acts just to stay in power
- He said this after some National Identification Authority officials were picked up for registering people at night
A member of the legal team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abraham Amaliba, has argued that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would everything possible to stay in power.
According to him, the ruling party would not hesitate to ensure that their objectives are achieved, even if it mean using illegal means.
His comments come after some officers of the National Identification Authority (NIA) were arrested for registering people at a house in Awudome, near the St Theresa Catholic Church in Accra at night.

YEN.com.gh understands that the act was committed on the night of Tuesday, May 7, 2019, and residents in the area, upon realising what was going on, tipped the police.
Per an Adomonline.com report, though the NIA officers managed to escape, their machines were confiscated and a complaint lodged at the Kaneshie Police Station.
In Amaliba’s opinion, the NPP is behind that illegality and is doing this under the cover of darkness, which explains why the suspects are nowhere to be found.
