Ghanaians troll Mahama; elections won’t be held in your heart

Ghanaians on social media have reacted to John Dramani Mahama’s comments that he knows in his heart that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will return to power in 2020.

The former president was on tour in the Greater Accra region to thank the leadership and supporters of the party for endorsing him as flagbearer of the party.

He assured supporters that unlike the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the NDC will always be sincere with them.

He accused the Akufo-Addo government of promising what it cannot deliver, adding that the NDC only makes promises that they know are achievable.

The NDC flagbearer concluded by expressing his confidence that he will return to the Presidency after the 2020 general elections.

“[The] NDC will always be honest to you. We will tell you what we can do for you. When we come into government, we will do what exactly we said we can do for you.

“Let us all work hard and make sure that we go from corner to corner because I know in my heart that the 2020 election, NDC is going to win back into power,” he added.

However, Ghanaians on social media have also given their opinions on the comments made by Mahama.

While some agreed with him on his bid to become president again, others felt he has nothing more to offer the country.

Manuel said Mahama should keep dreaming.

William said Mahama was incompetent.
