There are currently about 26 cases being investigated by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, led by Martin Amidu.
According to a report by Joy News, the cases involve former President John Mahama, as well as some government appointees under the Akufo-Addo administration.
Board Chair of the Ghana National Petroleum Company and national chairman of the governing NPP Freddie Blay is also being investigated by the Office.

In 20189, Mr. Amidu was announced as President Akufo-Addo’s choice for the newly created Office of the Special Prosecutor.
He was subsequently sworn in as Ghana’s first-ever Special Prosecutor in January 2018.
The Office is mandated to investigate and prosecute cases of alleged corruption under the Public Procurement Act 203 Act 63 and other corruption-related offences implicating public officers, political office holders and their accomplices in the public sector.
The Special Prosecutor is also mandated to trace and recover the proceeds of corruption.
