Popular Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has set tongues wagging with his latest activity towards the upcoming 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
Stonebwoy has got Ghanaians talking after supporting himself towards the upcoming VGMA grand event slated for May 18, 2019.
In an event that the Burniton Music Group CEO and his team organized at One Corner Gardens, the artiste and his fans used it as an opportunity to vote for him.
Reports sighted on Ameyawdebrah.com revealed that Stonebwoy spent a whooping GHC50,000 on airtime used in voting for him.
The 'Kpoo Keke' hitmaker gave the airtime to fans as they loaded on their phones and voted for the artiste.
The voting event was organized towards the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards which Stonebwoy has received 11 nominations for.
According to Stonebwoy, the voting party which is the first of its kind was an opportunity for him to be innovative and also invest in his own career.
Stonebwoy hopes to win big at this year’s VGMAs for which he was nominated for ‘Reggae Dancehall Song of the Year’, ‘Reggae Dancehall Artiste of the Year’, ‘Artiste of the Year’, ‘Best Collaboration, Hiplife Song of the Year’ and the ‘Most Popular Song of the Year' categories.
Stonebwoy was in the news recently after he broke silence concerning Shatta Wale's big win at this year's 3Music Awards.
In a recent interview on Accra-based radio station Joy FM, he strongly believed that there were a couple of awards that should have gone to him.
The 'Baafira' singer noted that he was disappointed in the organizers but decided not to comment.
According to him, even though the organisers later admitted that the awards did not go entirely well, he urged them “to reward hard work.”
Stonebwoy is undoubtedly one of Ghana's top artistes as he has thrilled music lovers over the years with his songs.
He has won many awards including the VGMA, BET, AFRIMA and a host of other local and international accolades.
