5 Musicians who made only one hit in their career

Music is a big deal in Ghana as most young men and women seek to make their mark and become successful by becoming musicians.

While there are some musicians who continue to make waves with their songs year after year, some make only few hits.

There are also some musicians who made waves with only one song and after that have not been seen in the limelight.

Here, YEN.com.gh brings to you musicians that made only one hit in their career.

1. D-Chryme

In 2011, Ghana could not have enough of D-Chryme after he dropped a single titled 'Kill Me Shy'.

'Kill Me Shy' shot D-Chryme to fame as he became one of the most sort-after artistes in Ghana.

The song which received massive airplay enabled D-Chryme to play almost all top concerts at the time.

However, little was heard from the Tema based rapper after 'Kill Me Shy' shot him to fame.

Even though D-Chryme released other songs after 'Kill Me Shy', they did not make hits.

2. Zigi

In September 2010, Ghana went haywire after Lynx Entertainment artiste, Zigi, released a single titled 'You Say Wetin.'

The song went viral few weeks after its released, making Zigi become popular all of a sudden.

Zigi who was in level 200 at University of Ghana during his release of the song played almost all shows during that period.

It was however surprising that after 'You Say Wetin', Ghanaians never really heard about Zigi again.

Even though he released some other singles following 'You Say Wetin', they did not make the waves.

Zigi who wanted to revive his career released a remix of 'You Say Wetin' in 2018 which featured Kofi Kinaata and Gasmilla but unfortunately the song did not make waves.

3. Atom

In 2015, Ghana could not have enough of Atom as he realased 'Yewo Krom' which made a massive hit.

'Yewo Krom' received much airplay on radio and in pubs, making Atom become a household name at the time.

The song which was a cover version of Gasmilla's single 'Telemo' made hits so much that Atom won Best Hiplife Song during the 2016 VGMA.

The song went to the extent of getting played at Apple's Developer Conference in 2016.

It is however surprising that after 'Yewo Krom', not enough has been heard from Atom as he never made any hit again.

4. Nana Boroo

In 2010, Nana Boroo received a lot of accolades and support from music lovers after he dropped 'Aha Yede.'

'Aha Yede' became a household song since it was played on radio stations and pubs in Ghana.

Nana Boroo had the opportunity to play most of the big concerts due to his hit single 'Aha Yede' making him become very popular in Ghana.

However, little was heard about Nana Boroo after his hit song faded out because he never made any hit again.

Even though Nana Boroo tried to come back into the limelight by releasing other singles, they did not get him the top spot.

5. Ebo'o

In 2006, the song titled 'Once-Twice' by Ebo was one of the most popular songs in Ghana as it received much airplay.

Even though it was a reggae song, music lovers jammed to it so much that Ebo became very popular.

'Once, Twice' got Ebo playing a lot of concerts at the time since the song became the favorite of many.

It is rather unfortunate that after 'Once-Twice' hit, not a single hit has been released from Ebo again.
