The deputy minister of education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has been captured in a video, taking Senior High School (SHS) students through lessons in Mathematics.
YEN.com.gh understands that this happened as he went to monitor preparations of students for the ongoing West Africa Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE).
He also took the opportunity to inspect the construction of some schools in the Ashanti region.
At the Adu Gyamfi Senior High School, he took the opportunity to teach some students Mathematics, when it was realized that the tutor was not immediately available.
Per a report by Myjoyonline.com, the students were surprised to have the minister taking them through Mathematics.
Dr. Adutwum, after the lesson, urged the school authorities to work towards reversing persistent failures in English Language and Mathematics.
According to him, the trend of persistent massive failures in the two subjects over the years must be a thing of the past.
YEN.com.gh understands that in the year 2018, over 190,000 Senior High School (SHS) graduates missed university admission due to failure in the two subjects.
