Popular dancehall act, Stonebwoy real name Livingstone Etse Satekla, has released a statement following the brawl at VGMA 2019.
Stonebwoy has released a press statement following the brouhaha that occurred at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards event on May 18, 2019 at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The 'Kpoo Keke' hitmaker apologised for his actions that brought some form of eruption at the show.
In a statement he shared on his Instagram page, Stonebwoy posted the photo of an official press release concerning the incident that happened on the night.
Stonebwoy admitted that he was to be partly blamed for the confrontation with Shatta Wale.
He rendered an apology and expressed regret at the incident which led to a hold-up at Ghana music's biggest night.
The Burniton Music Group CEO also tried to defend his actions as he blamed fellow dancehall artiste Shatta Wale for starting the feud.
Stonebwoy explained that he had been a victim of incessant vilification and physical attacks in recent times.
He recalled how his wife suffered a knife attack at a concert.
The 'Top Skanka' hitmaker revealed that henceforth, he would effect some changes in his security team.
Stonebwoy's statement followed a brawl that happened at the just ended VGMA event held at the AICC Dome.
The incident occurred after Shatta Wale walked up on stage when Stonebwoy was about giving his acceptance speech for winning Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.
While Shatta Wale and his entourage walked up the stage, Stonebwoy's manager met them half-way as he tried to stop them from getting on.
The confrontation resulted in a scuffle that led to Stonebwoy pulling out a handgun in self-defense.
The incident triggered some high level officials, diplomats and celebrities to leave the event for the scary situation that the incident caused.
