The Imam for the Suaman district in the Western North region, Alhaji Mumuni, has praised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its love and support for Muslims in Ghana.
He has therefore called on fellow Muslims to disabuse their minds of the perception that the NPP hates Muslims and people in the Zongo areas.
Alhaji Mumuni revealed that the political party has initiated several programmes and policies that benefit Muslims in Ghana.
Per a report by Dailymailgh.com, he said, was a testimony to the fact that this is in contrast to claims that the party hates Muslims.
According to him, there has been a turnaround in perception, which was fuelled by the visit of the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to Dadieso to pray, as part of the 2019 nationwide Ramadan Tour on Sunday, May 19, 2019.
Flanked by two of his deputies, Alhaji Mumuni said then-candidate Nana Akufo-Addo promised in the lead up to the 2016 general elections, that if voted into office, he would show that the NPP does not dislike Muslims, contrary to the propaganda being pushed by the party’s opponents.
