The ministry of tourism, culture and creative arts has revealed plans of mediating in the dispute between dancehall artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

The minister, Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, stated that the move is to help prevent what could possibly be an unhealthy escalation.

Her comments were in reaction to the gun-related incident that took place at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) held on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

The confusion started when Stonebwoy was announced as the Regga/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.

Per a report by Classfmonline.com, Shatta Wale and his fans approached the podium to, ostensibly congratulate Stonebwoy, but events turned chaotic, a situation that prompted Stonebwoy to pull out a pistol.

YEN.com.gh understands that the security officers at the event pepper-sprayed the stage in an attempt to prevent a full-blown fight.

The minister therefore called on the fans of the two musicians to stop the social media war as it fuels the rivalry between the two artistes.
