Organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, Charterhouse has spoken following the recent brouhaha at the 2019 VGMA.
Charterhouse has expressed their sentiments concerning the brouhaha at the just ended Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
According to the event house, they have taken serious exception at the incident that occurred between musicians Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
In a press statement that was released, Charterhouse revealed their stance as they rendered an apology to patrons of the event.
Charterhouse rendered their unreserved apology to attendees who went to the event as well as to those who watched the event on national television.
They admitted that there was a security breach that led to the scuffle between Ghana music's biggest rivals.
Charterhouse also apologized to the main sponsor Vodafone and other sponsors, partners and media partners.
They also apologized to the various ministers of state and other government officials who were present at the event.
According to them, a lot of work had gone into organizing the event since it is a special edition of the annual event.
They however lamented that patrons were not given the full experience that they deserved due to the breach.
Charterhouse in their statement revealed that they had reported the incident to the police since they are a law abiding firm.
In the statement, Charterhouse further explained that there were rules governing how musicians should comport themselves.
They revealed that the rules and regulations of the event comes with punitive measures when flouted.
The statement from Charterhouse followed a brawl that ensued between dancehall musicians Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.
The brawl began after Shatta Wale and his entourage walked up to the stage following the announcement that Stonebwoy had been adjudged the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year.
The confrontation between the two teams resulted in a scuffle that halted the event for about twenty minutes.
The scuffle led to Stonebwoy pulling out a handgun, something that has been condemned by many Ghanaians.
