- Former president Mahama has accused President Akufo-Addo of lying to Ghanaians about roads in the country
- He explained that the president abrogated all road contracts and re-awarded them at exorbitant rates
Former president John Dramani Mahama, has accused President Akufo-Addo of lying about road contracts awarded during his tenure as president.
According to him, the president falsified figures about road contracts awarded by his government before he left office.
He further revealed that that the president abrogated all contracts and awarded them again at exorbitant rates.
It is therefore surprising, he went on, that there should be questions about the road projects awarded during his time.
Per a report by Citinewsroom.com, President Akufo-Addo raised concerns about the existence of supposed unprecedented road infrastructure executed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prior to the 2016 general elections.
To him, to refer to Mahama’s input to Ghana’s road network as massive was a mystery as it is obvious nothing of that sort existed.
But responding to the president, Mahama said; “the president lied; I never said I had done all the roads in the country as I have been reported to have said.”
