Akufo-Addo speaks to Kwesi Appiah over Gyan's retirement

Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah, has spoken to President Akufo-Addo over Asamoah Gyan’s retirement.

Akufo-Addo called Kwesi Appiah as a matter of urgency over the sudden resignation of the captain of the senior national team, Asamoah Gyan,.

The call,according to reports, was solely to talk about Gyan’s retirement and preparations for the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.

On Monday, May, 20, 2019, Gyan shocked football fans as he announced his decision to the quit the national team one month to the AFCON.

Gyan noted in a long and touching letter that he was recusing himself from any potential selection for the upcoming AFCON if he is denied the captaincy at the tournament.

He stressed that that he "could not pretend to be happy" over how unfortunate he believes he has been treated by sections of the media..

Meanwhile, a renowned fetish priest has revealed that Ghana can’t win the upcoming AFCON without Gyan.

According to him, failure to listen to his advise will ruin Ghana’s hopes of clinching the long-awaited trophy.
